WHAT IS THE CRUCIAL PROBLEM TO LEARN SECOND LANGUAGE?

Crucial problem to learn second language here means dificulties and problems to learn english. Most of us will be facing this kind of problem especially when new in learning that language.Students can have various dificulties that may look crucial but is not if handled smartly. They can make different mistakes in English pronunciation, grammar, orthography and vocabulary usage. So for new learners take the problem as a challenge so you can improve yourself and excel.

1. Grammar
English Grammar is complex, making it difficult to remember, master and use logically. Ensuring you use the correct grammar can be tricky, especially when you are in conversation with someone and they are speaking at an alarmingly fast pace. Learning grammar is like learning to drive, you can learn all of the theory, rules and regulations, but you won't be good at it unless you practice it and it starts to become second nature to you. Grammar is extremely important, incorrect use of grammar can confuse the person you are speaking to and even change the meaning of what you are communicating, what's more is native English speakers are hyper aware of grammar and will notice almost immediately if a grammatical error is made, even if this is the smallest of errors, English speakers are incredibly proud of the language and look negatively on it being used incorrectly.
2. Vocabulary

Is often a challenge, particularly when it comes to verb variations and understanding which tense should be used in various situations. English has one of the biggest vocabularies of all languages, and it can be very confusing for non-English speakers to master. Using vocabulary inaccurately is incredibly noticeable to anyone who's first language is English, though it doesn't often change the meaning of your text, it does weaken it.

3. Slangs
With the English language having such an extensive vocabulary and complicated grammar, there is enough to teach students wanting to learn English, rarely are students exposed to the slang words used by English speakers in every day conversation. Sentences can be predominantly filled with slang words, so maintaining a conversation can be difficult for anyone who doesn't understand what they mean.

4. Pronunciation
Knowing how to pronounce words in English can be very difficult as it isn't always obvious. English speakers have been taught these from an early age, which is how they know not to pronounce the ‘k' on ‘knight' , they are taught the subtleties in how to pronounce something to communicate the right message. Furthermore, depending on the first language of the English student, it can often be difficult to pronounce certain words properly, having not ever had to create that phonetic sound before.

5. Variations in English
The variations in the different forms of English can often be difficult to understand. For example, the difference between using formal and informal language or the differences between spoken and written language. This leads to students writing words phonetically, i.e. how they would say it rather than how its actually spelt, and using informal language, maybe even slang that they have picked up, in formal situations which may perhaps be viewed negatively.

Learning english is fun we need to practise more and understand use all of your senses to face the problem. These days there are lots of ways to learn it depends on us to find out the ways to improve or just do nothing.

Thank you from us :)

Why Do People Travel

To Enjoy The Beauty of The World

 Nature is beautiful, people who love the beauty of the world would travel just to catch a slight

glimpse of it. Different places have their own beauty, that’s why some would travel to Maldives

for it’s amazing view or go to New York during New Year’s eve to experience the countdown in

the middle of Times Square. It’s different for people but they sure find beauty in those places.

To Experience New Culture

 In every part of the world, there are numerous types of culture depending on the places. These

culture teaches them their manners, food and ways of life which makes it interesting to see and

learn. People want to see how much these culture had stayed that way or grow even

throughout the days where technology has become a need. Especially in India where you can

see how they celebrate their festivals, Africa where they still have their cultures with them until

today. These new and different culture fascinates them and you cannot find such experience

through television.

To Learn New Languages

 We find it difficult to learn new languages without experiencing where it came from. By

travelling this would be easier to do. However, people like learning new things or in this case

language during their travel. It is interesting to try and speak like a native speaker and learn new

words. It may sound weird but usually when people travel, they enjoy mimicking a native

speaker especially when it comes to slangs. Through this, they get to learn a new language in a

more fun way.

To Eat New Food

 When it comes to food, there is no question whether or not everybody loves it, everyone enjoys

it! Food is love, it’s what brings people together. It is great that each country, or state serves

different meals on their table. From pancakes, to pizzas, ‘nasi lemak’, nan bread, noodles and

many more. Where can you taste the originality if not in its own country of origin? From their

appetizers, to their main course and local delicacies. It is no doubt that our taste buds would be

loving these new taste; at least be surprised by it.

To Have Fun

 Having fun isn’t just about going to a theme park and ride roller coasters and some sort; it’s

about enjoying ourselves even if we are just standing on the street. Travelling to another

country is fun because in a foreign country, there are so many things to discover and see. The

country itself is the source of entertainment. We can be friendly to everyone and people won’t

give us weird looks because in some ways that is what foreigners are like; they are fascinated by

the littlest things. Travelling itself is fun.

WHY BREAKFAST IS THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL OF THE DAY

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Breakfast literally means breaking the fast after a long sleep at the night as it is the first meal after sleeping. Unfortunately, out of the three main meals of the day, breakfast is the most neglected or skipped. This action is not healthy for us because breakfast provides the energy that our body and brain need for our daily basis activities. Therefore, there are lots of benefits why breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

It Can Prevent You From Suffering Heart Attack – In a recent study that involves almost 27 000 XY genes, found that those who did not eat a morning meal were 27 percent more likely to develop heart disease than those who did. Research also indicates that people who skip breakfast gain more weight than others which can lead to diabetes as well as high cholesterol and blood pressure which can risk your heart condition. This is because people who skipped breakfast tends to overeat at other meals and snacks excessively throughout the day.

It Might Lower Your Risk Of Type 2 Diabetes – A morning meal may help you avoid fluctuating glucose levels which can lead to diabetes. On a research of almost 30 000 men found that not eating breakfast raised the risk by 21 percent even after taking into account their body mass, what they ate and other factors. In a study of women, those who aged below 65 that skipped breakfast even just for a few times per week were 28 percent more likely to develop diabetes than women who ate breakfast regularly.

It Get You Moving – Food is like fuel for the body so eating a nutritious breakfast means you will have enough energy to burn which can keep you active and productive until lunch rolls around. In a recent study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition ( AJON ), people who ate breakfast were more physically active during the morning rather than those who didn’t.  This might be because a temporally increase in blood sugar that provides them more energy in the morning.

All in a nutshell, breakfast give a lot of benefits for us and is really is the most important meal of the day. Therefore, for those who are planning to skipped breakfast should think about it twice.

WHY STUDENT PLAGIARISE ??

WHST IS PLAGIARISM?

  • Rewriting from books or articles without citation
  • Copying and pasting from web pages and online sources
  • Buying downloading or borrowing a paper
  • Copying your mates assignments or work

Why does this happens among students ? From my opinion most of students do not understand the importance of citation.Students will think that by just looking or searching for ideas is our own idea but in reality you are actually copying. That is why we need citation from our sources to prevent plagirism. Some f the students may not even know how to cite their sources because of copying from the internet is a normal thing to do but really now everyone needs to know the use of citation starting from their school days.

Next student may lack of research skills. This happens when they depend on the internet and web pages too much.Nowadays i agree we can search almost anything in the internet but not all we can directly copy and paste it.We need to do a little research and reading. When we read for instance an article from the internet and the article are close to your assignment do you copy it or you read and do some scanning? So be smart when taking something in the internet or go to the library.

Furthermore, i can say some of the students are lack of confident and mostly have no idea what their assignments are meant. So this type of students would just search it and copy it without thinking. Why i call it lack of confident because there are so many ways to understand a thing you can ask your lecterurs or further understanding but no they choose to copy.

Last but not least students are lazy.I admit this is the biggest problem for most student.First they dont understand their assignments given leads to copying and laziness. Some of them may want to escape from so much work and using the easiest way out which is copying.Other than that, students may panic because they are lack of time.Obviously when the due date is  around the corner.

The conclusion is plagirism can be prevented but students itself must know what they are doing. Some of the reasons above are around us and we tend to do it without realising it.We may think its okay when lecterurs cant detect but plagiarism can leads to serious law actions if caught.

Should Cellphones Be Used During Class

Cellphones used to be so expensive for anyone to have or so big you can’t exactly bring it without it weighing you down. Nowadays it’s almost impossible for people NOT to have, someone as young as 9years old can have their own cellphone. These devices are often used no matter what the user is doing, from standing, driving and even during studying or more specifically in class.

Being a teenager myself, I would say that cellphones is something I must have with me at all times but it doesn’t mean I agree with the usage of it during class. The cell nowadays aren’t like when it first came out which has only one function; calling. Now we can text, take photos, listen to music, search the internet, play games and lots more with it. In other words, it is a huge distraction.

Usage of cellphones during class will bring lots of negatives than positives. Instead of listening to the lectures given, students will tend to use their phone to text, play games and even listen to music especially in a class packed with people. This will happen when they feel bored or doesn’t feel like studying.

Also, other than not focusing; the usage of cellphones enables these students to cheat during tests. Although it may sound impossible for some people, Phone Arena showed some startling statistics about the use of phones for cheating in class. This could be through exchanging text with others, using the Internet to find answers, use phone applications, or reading notes that are saved in the phone.

In addition, cellphones can encourage bullying. These are serious problems among young people nowadays. Since most smartphones has camera and video technology which can be used to capture or videotape bullying incidents. This happens because these students would like to show people what they can do to others and are proud of it.

In conclusion, it is obvious that usage of cellphones in class does more bad than good. I’m sure that most student feels the same way about the negative effects phones can bring. Needless to say, it’s better if we avoid things that would bring more negative than positive.

The Disadvantages of Spending a Holiday Abroad

How nice to have a long break from your hectic study life? How about a fabulous holiday that costs you a little, no worries of security and safety, and what most, no hustle on food? Being a student, time and money are not always on your side, so don’t you want to spend your holiday wisely? Definitely, you would be discouraged to spend your hard-earned time and money abroad.

Firstly, it is the fact that having holiday abroad would cost you more money. Due to present drop in Ringgit value against major currencies, spending holiday in countries such as the US, United Kingdom or Australia will be more expensive. It costs you more on tickets fee, room, transportation, food or even your shopping lists. Plus, having a vacation abroad would lead you to unnecessary and additional costs for getting your passport or visa ready or you may end up paying tax for items you purchase abroad. A part from that, you also tend to get cheated for paying more for items or services that you are not familiar with on foreign soil.

Secondly, having vacation overseas may raise security and safety concerns. We may often get carried away while in shopping heaven. We may be exposed and fall victim of crimes such as pick pocket, car-jacking, robberies or even kidnapping. Moreover, being a Muslim, we might be a subject of religious prejudice because not all countries are Muslim-friendly and due to racism by local people, Muslims are not well-received. Furthermore, being in foreign country, their rules and regulations are alien to you as things deemed legal in our country might be illegal in other countries. We may get caught and penalised or even worst, we may get arrested unnecessarily.

Lastly, food is major disadvantage when you are on a overseas trip. Why food? The obvious issue is that majority of Malays eat rice in their daily meals. In overseas you may find it difficult to find rice and if we do, it may cost you a lot just for a plate of rice. As for Muslims getting ‘halal’ food is a main concern and we might face problems in finding ‘halal’ food especially in a non-Muslim country.

When travelling abroad, cooking your own meals is almost impossible. Unlike in Malaysia where cooking facilities and raw materials and ingredients are easily available, how much time do you have for searching for those items and if you do so, does the hotel abroad allow their guest to cook?

In a nut shell, even though there are a lot of disadvantages of spending a holiday abroad, we still can enjoy our break by going on a vacation in our country, Malaysia because you might be surprised to have beautiful scenery of beaches, various kind of food that you may want to enjoy and of course, there are great shopping heavens that offer reasonable price and lot of goodies too.

WHY STUDENTS SHOULD ACQUIRE A SECOND LANGUAGE???

Some of the students these days dont take a second language seriously eventhough most of us learnt them since primary or even kindergarden.By now students should realise that they must acquire a second language which is english not just learn and forget. We use it internationally and students should master it and practise it.

One of the main reason especially students are:

To improve chances of entry to study abroad-how are we going to study abroad without knowing english?if we dont acquire fluency in  english  we definately going to face difficulty in communication. When we know the language, we have the comfort to of being able to successfully navigate all sorts of situations.Eventhough not all country speak english and require us to take third language but it is better than nothing.

To communicate with foreigners in our country-Malaysia are known with places for foreigners to discover and travel.Especially our country now are opening eyes of the world so we should give them the best treat especially in communication.Foreigners surely will be asking us for directions and places of interest, are we going to run from their question and hide. Not a really good impression to them right?

To increase confidence when facing people-even in our education system are using english mainly in universities. All presentations, assignments and lectures are in english. We can understand more if we acquire second language and not being blurry in class. If we master english no more shame in presenting and publically speaking infront of people .

Broaden horizons-this means we can make friends with people around the world and learn their culture.

No more subtitle/translation!-english movies,tv shows or books are now can be translated when aired. So if we acquire our second language we are able to understand and not watching or reading the subs (because most of them are not fun to read and sometimes we missed the best joke)

Job?-english has beome the lingua franca in many parts of the world so we have to learn english to work at a multinational counrty (commonly this kind of company pays higher). This is for the students who are graduating in the future think how acuiring a second language effects big part of it.

Thankyou for reading.

Studying In A Group vs. Studying Alone

Students always find complication over whether to study alone or in groups. While being in groups might bring lots of distractions, studying alone might let our mind wander off. However, different people have different opinion of things as some might enjoy the atmosphere of being a group but prefer to do so in silence. While others like to sit alone and do the rest on their own.

Explanation - When alone, all the explanation can be found in books and the internet, this teaches us to be independent of finding something on your own. Whilst, studying in groups may be easier as your study mates might have more information and can increase your knowledge.

Keep silent – Sitting alone gives peace and space, allowing us to think carefully and have less distraction while doing so. In groups, one conversation may lead to another and from talking about a subject, it can easily turn into a conversation of what’s for lunch, or what clothing to buy. Although this is actually up to the people in the group.

Put your mind on it – When you study on your own, you’re able to focus on the topics that you have already picked out and not waste any time on those that you already understand. While your partner might want you to study the topics that they are not familiar with.

Quizzes – Surely quizzes or questions can be done alone and there’s no problem with it. The fun way to do it is in groups; help those who needs it, make flash cards together and quiz one another. Learning with people can give us a free mind and a great mood; success is just around the corner!

Take your time – By studying alone, you can read and study your materials carefully and take your own time. Studying at your own pace is important for you to understand things thoroughly. Rushing things may only lead to less understanding and mixed up information.

Golden information – Studying in groups allows sharing of opinions, views and information. These kinds of discussion will able you to improve your thinking skills. By sharing, we can expand the basic information that we have on something and broaden our understanding on the topic.

Basically everyone have their own ways of studying. Nevertheless, we wish you the best in it!
